I love all things pottery, especially Irish pottery. There is something incredibly special about a handmade piece. They carry the unique imprint of the maker’s hands and story. When someone buys one of my pottery pieces I am filled with an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude.
Firstly, Gratitude knowing that a piece that was crafted by my hands is being welcomed into someone’s home or being given as a special gift. It’s a humbling experience that reminds me of the joy and connection art can bring to both maker and receiver.
Secondly, I am grateful to myself. That I allowed myself to follow this path, that it’s never too late. Too often the biggest obstacle is ourselves.
It’s very important to me how I made my ceramics and how I run my studio. Everything in my process is considered, always supporting local, reusing and recycling where I can.
